Great information on fuels guys. Thanks!

My ECU is what it is, mainly because of my old school limitations; not because of any class limitations. I can tune the emultion tubes, air bleeds, chokes and jets on a DCOE webber; change the pills on a hilborn mechanical injection, but, I have little experience or aptitude for the new electronic based fuel systems. I'm sure that in the future I'll find help with a stand alone when I start looking for more power. But for right now, with a megar 220 whp, I'm realistic when I say that I'm more interested in finishing cleanly rather that winning.

From what I understand: I will be OK using pump gas, preferrably e0 and if I want to add a little race gas or toluline to it for extra comfort, then so be it. I'll take a look on my on-track egt's/oil/ water temps and then add/subtract octane to a suitable level. Thanks again for the explanations and suggestions!

It's my understanding that e85 is a cheap source for 103 octane fuel... something like 3.50/gallon... put it in and crank up the boost!

By your signature, you're having a lot of fun with it.

Unfortunately, my local club racing groups specify the fuel and additives you can use. I'm sure they'd sniff me out if I was burning alcohol!

e85 is pump gas. But you need to be able to tune to run it.
