What MS are you running? Who tuned it? I just realized now that you are N/A we could exchange maps. How are your starts?

DIYPNP built by Brainy. I tuned it, if you can call it that. My starts WERE glorious and while my idle did bounce a bit, it wasn't that bad. It just needed some TLC

I just put the megasquirt back in the car and it won't start. I reverted to my tune from back in June... still no start.

Well, back to this silliness.

****!

I just thought of something, is it possible that I burned out the ignition channel on the MS by grounding it? I need to figure out how to test this without a stim...

Ahh, the TR6's are nice; a neighbor recently got one. He's been restoring it and it's a nice car. He has a pair of early 3series bmw's in his garage; I'm not sure where he keeps the TR6. He joked about having a "collection" now.

Orange ... you originally from Tennessee?

Bloody hell. Car wouldn't start so I put the stock ECU back in, then it started and ran fine. Once running, I noticed a huge sucking sound under the dash, and the boost gauge read 0. Ungh! If anyone out there has a DIYPNP and wants to do me a favor, disconnect your vacuum line and see if the car starts...

BTDT too many times, sometimes it starts but horrendously rough, othertimes it won't.

You'll be overfuelling massively at idle.

Well hopefully you can get it sorted. I am having problems with starts, takes longer than I like. Want to post your MSQ?

I would check out the MAP line problem but my car is currently on blocks.

I better start being nice, you also have a 5/6 speed I may now need

Starting yesterday, when the shifter goes into 5th, it stays there. I managed to get the car out of 5th by pulling over on the side of the highway, shutting off the engine, and rocking the car back and fourth with the clutch in while cranking on the shifter.

I also discovered that it refuses to go into reverse. No work around for that yet

Car is starting to get the better of my gentle and easygoing nature again

Savington had a 6sp for sale in Sunnyvale. I think it was cheap if I remember correctly.

Yep, just found his post in the classifieds and responded, so we'll see.

I can get a low mileage (< 75k 5speed) from a local-ish wrecker, but if I'm going to bother messing with the trans, I might as well get a 6speed.

Of course, a 3.9 Torsen would be nice...

Thanks man, Its been one thing after another recently.

I bled the hell out of the clutch and adjusted the pushrod until it felt like it was bottoming out, and I can baaaaaaarely get into reverse now, and if I accidentally shift into 5th, I can get it out about 80% of the time. Not ideal, but at least I can drive.

I feel your pain. I have been fighting my car for the last 2 weeks. Two steps forward, one step back. At least my car started yesterday. All of the easy stuff has been a problem, and all of the hard stuff has been easy.

Anyone know where to get an aluminium radiator repaired?

What happened to it? Or more accurately, what kind of repair does it need?

The problem I've seen with aluminum rads is they are paper thin, and it takes a ninja with a TIG to get it right, or you can play the JBWeld game...

Sorry to hear about these recent troubles. However I'm interested to see how the rebuild kit you're buying fits in... I smell change in the air for you soon!

I made a comment to jasonB about a spare T25 that was going to be replaced in his SR20 swap build thread, and we traded PMs and I agreed to trade him some parts. I've got pics of the tag on the trubo but his PM box is full and he hasn't logged in for a while, and I neglected to get his email address or phone number.

Gesso has a TIG so I'm keeping my options open, that's all.

I somehow missed this. The rad developed a crack along one of the bars, I tried to get it repaired by a ninja but the welder head couldn't fit far enough down.

I just went to ebay and bought one of those DNAmotoring aluminum radiators for $105 plus tax (made an offer and they accepted). Really nice radiator. I was impressed.

I also sorted out my starting issue, but now my Tach flaked out. It was working great for months, I checked the wiring- everything is great. Always something.

I also need to re-align my belt, which means ripping everything out again.
