This is fantastic. We were recently discussing electronic supercharging on my local car club forum.. very interesting read.

What's most impressive to me about this is the idea that it's literally PnP. It makes nice numbers on stock tune with nothing else changed. That's pretty neat to me.

Should open the doors to some really cool stuff in upcoming years. Battery tech is improving quite a bit due to the tech era that we live in. I could see this becoming much more of a viable option in the future.

I thought you were referring to the F1 MGU-H, which is electric anti-lag combined with loading the turbine to not need the wastegate. Could be called electrical compressor

But those systems only apply to cars running full throttle for a large portion of the time.

Is this a repost? Can you point me to the original thread so I can edit the lead post to reflect that?

idk if it was even its own thread, but this exact thread from the FRS forum was used in a discussion of the topic a while ago.

Cliffnotes:
Brushless motors and speed controllers from large scale RC aircraft and electric para-sails have become very cheap and powerful enough to spin a centrifugal supercharger.

Pretty cool that it has gone from joke/scam status to an actual performance part.
