Default 1.6 front pinion housing v.s. 1.8

Ive searched everywhere for this and couldn't find it so i'm asking you guys to help me out. I currently have a 1.6 open diff Miata, as well as a 1988 NA Rx-7 with the clutch type LSD. I would like to swap the diffs with out buying more than i need. I know the only reason the Rx-7 diff wont bolt right in is the bushings and the longer pinion housing. so i was wondering if the 1.8 and 1.6 front pinion housings are the same, because i know the 1.8 front pinion housing will bolt right onto my Rx-7 diff and work. So can i bolt the 1.6 front pinion housing on or are they incompatible?

-Thanks

Thanks for the link.

The first sentence describes my experience I had yesterday to the tee. I was just dirving along after having a fresh 4 wheel alignment thinking to myself "damn this new alignment is great for grabing the curves and a LOUD HMM! started and BANG BANG repeatedly until I stopped.

Yep, it was a 1.6 open diff exploding. This sucks right in the mits of great weather. Anyone selling a 1.8 torsen complete set up?
