Hey guys if been wanting to upgrade my 1.6 drivetrain to the 1.8. Got a good deal on automatic transmission 1.8 drivetrain but dont know if the 1.8l automatic drvietrain will be a bolt on affair with my manual trans..

Basically wondering if the automatic dirvetrain will work on my 1.6l manual trans

Thank you for reading!! hope to hear from some of yall!

Wat? Are you saying that you've got a 1.8 with auto trans, and want to take that engine and swap it into your already manual trans car? If I'm reading that right, you should be good to go. This article may help, but it should be basically a 1.6 to 1.8 swap.

Let me explain it better my bad. But thank you for a response

my current set up 1.6l manual trans 1993
wanting 1.8l drivetrain driveshaft axles diff
got a good deal on 1.8l driveshaft axles and diff out of a 1996
but the components I got was out of a automatic 1.8l
wondering if they will still work with my manual 5 speed

I think you'll need a driveshaft out of a standard trans 1.8 car if I recall. Also, you might want to check to see if the 1.8 diff is an open style coming off an auto car (it'll work just might want to go to an LSD style).

Diff and axles are the same except it's not an LSD and it won't have the balancing guibo on the front (not important). The driveshaft is different

IIRC all autos had an open diff

Awesome feedback! So basically all in all axles and diff will work but will have to find a driveshaft from a 1.8l Manual trans! Thank you guys for the info! Always reliable!
