That guy last logged in 6 months ago.

I found a shop in WV that's been in business for 45 years that seems to have some. Just waiting on them to double check and call me back in the morning. Seemed like a stand up place when I looked them up and called them.

Haha damn. He replied right away!

He said he doesn't really know where the stack ended up after a move. Bummer...

Are you sure you need new clips? I've done 2 sets and no issues at all.

1-2 of them got nicked when I was hammering off the stock spring perches. If I'm going to need to get 2, I might as well replace all of them. I had no idea it was going to be such a hassle to find them though!

I guess we should've told you a little heat with a propane torch on the aluminum perch and the perches almost fall off (as long as you tap them in the right direction).

Yeah, I would never have thought of doing that myself because it's a gas shock. I had a hand torch sitting right there. Just got a new fuel canister for it too.

Story of my life lol.

I'll have to look, I know I ordered a big bag of circlips but I'm not 100% sure where they ended up.

Unrelated, does anyone have a pair of 6", 2.5" diam, 700 lb/in springs laying around? I figure they're fairly common since they're spec Miata take-off's. I already have 550's, so I'm not super motivated to buy a new set, figured I'd check for used first.

I do. 1 pair Eibach 0600.250.0700

They're basically new in box. $90/pair + paypal fee and shipping. A pair will fit in a medium rate flat rate box ($11??).

So, $90 + $11 + $3 = $104 and they're yours. You can PM me for paypal. Pics if you need.

Hopefully I remember tonight. As long as someone posts in this thread tonight, I'll look for them. Believe it or not, I check MiataTurbo more than I remember what I'm supposed to be doing sometimes...

I have clips but I think they're for an earlier ebay sleeve (experiment) to sit on so they're wider and won't fit under the sleeves but I'll look this weekend as well.

I'll PM you and bother you. I have a few other things to take care of before I build the shocks, so I'm going to hold off on ordering them right away in case you guys find some. Bilstein was closed. I can try them again on monday if you all strike out.

Thanks so much for checking.

And thanks for not telling me about the heat option bahurd. Jeez.
(I'm totally kidding. I probably would have blown up a shock if I tried that.)

That's OK. The first set I did I literally beat the perch off the first one. I was freezing because winter in the midwest inside my garage. I heated the next one about 20 seconds with a propane torch and the next 3 almost fell off. It was more work not to burn myself... The 2nd set took me probably 5 minutes all 4 shocks and another 5 minutes to pop the tab off.

I'm not mad about it. I probably would have found some way to hurt myself doing that.

Definitely took me a good bit to get everything off. They were sitting in my unheated garage in New England. It was in the 40's outside when I was doing this. Fire would have been nice for both ease of take-off and warmth! I definitely looked at the torch too, but like I said i probably wouldn't have ever tried that without being told to because of the warning on the shocks re gas.

FYI, the one's I have aren't the Bilstein factory part. It's this here: https://www.motionindustries.com/pro...p?sku=00651327

I'm guessing I did the research right when I bought them, but it wouldn't hurt to double check that they are the right size. I never got around to using them, so I can't say 100%.

They won't work in the Allstar sleeves or any of the type that captures the circling. The "ears" stick out too far for 1 thing.

Ah, makes sense. Mine are type of sleeves that sit on top of the circlip.

@ridethecliche maybe these' work because when the clip is installed the ears are inside and sized to make a circle. You can call All Star and ask them what the installed diameter is so you can measure your sleeves if you have them to make sure the sleeve will go over the clip. Personally, I prefer to use the type that seats 100% in the groove (no ears). I think the groove is 1mm deep X 1.5mm wide (but not 100% sure on depth without disassembling a shock).

Allstar Performance - racing and high performance car parts, accessories and specialty tools.

You can ask them about using the round wire type.
