I did a brake fluid flush and replaced it with DOT4 fluid. It took me for freakin ever to do but in the end i got all the air out and its pretty good now. I took it out for a test run through the back roads and it definetly improved my brakes response and bite. After about 15 miles my pads started to smoke....time for new pads.
You guys suggest HP+ HPS or Carbotechs? im thinking HPS, no? Its a street car and DD for now.

I streeted my HP+ without any complaints. I quite frankly wish they made them for my pickup truck. They did dust more than stock but never faded so I can live with the trade off. I'm not entering a car show so dust isn't my biggest concern, stopping well is.

lol @ another happy Carbotech customer
Actually, it's not. Why my pads did the same think I never tripped the 1800* paint on the rotor and XP12's are supposed to be good for 2000*.
I feel bad for bagging on them so bad because I know 949 sells them, but when CT decided not to replace my pads after one fell off the backing plate, I can't help but say bad things about them.

Carbotech replaced a set of pads I bought second hand that had a defect in the backing plate and they cracked. Apparently they redesigned them.
I think the manufactering date was 2010? cant remember would have to go to emails.

Well they did not replace my "used" pads so they can still drink my pee pee from the tap. If they want to send me a set of front and rear, I'll gladly sacrifice a set of rotors to regain my money.

I'm going to love upgrading from generic, 4 year old pads, stock warped rotors, at LEAST 4 year old brake fluid (probably much older than that), everything else stock. Will be getting RacingBrake Corrado rotors front, Sport rotors rear, stainless lines, NEW FLUID!, and either HP+ pads, or I may take your word for the truth, and try the ULT's, since it will be mostly street driven.

The ULTs don't make noise, they are just aggressive street pads. They are also incredibly cheap.
You'd be dumb to try to track them but I find their bite to be on par with HP+ in any situation I've needed them driving back and forth to work. Plus, they don't dust as much.
I had greenstuff pads on the car back in the day. I dont remember them squealing, and they handled the car at 170rwhp on the track. But around $70 for front pads, when you can get F/R in ULTs for $80 shipped...you know what I picked.

I put ULTs on recently and love them. Granted, my car is not turbo'd and is down on power even for a stock 1.6L, but I have zero complaints about them. The only time I hear any noise is when they're super cold, and the dust really isn't that bad. I also would not trust them at all on track though.
FWIW, I didn't use the anti-squeal goo on the backing plates, since they have that little "pad" sort of molded on.
