Default How to check differential gear ratio?

Is there a way to check this w/ out opening the case? Like turning the wheels and checking the revolutions of the driveshaft?

Spin both stubshafts the same direction 10 turns and count driveshaft revolutions. It will either be 39, 41, or 43.
