Default Car Get's Stuck In 1st, master, slave or clutch?

Hello MT

My 96 NA started acting up on me once again

It started last night
So clutch became about an inch or so lower than it was for the past 6 months
When I come to a complete stop, shifting in first is possible only if I touch the clutch just to shift into first. But I have to either shift it into 2nd or force to shifter into neutral (car feels like automatic you begin to panic and have to either shift or RIP it out of the gear)
If I hold the clutch and the brake or just the clutch pedal all the way to the floor for more than a couple of seconds it wont go into gear at all and clutch will stay sucked in for about a second.
No visible leaks on the slave cylinder, the reservoir is full and did not change it's level at all since summer 2013.

When the car is already rolling even just 2mph it's as easy as usual to shift in/out of the 1st. Definitely something clutch pressure related but what?
According to symptoms is it a slave cylinder, master cylinder or pressure plate?

It sounds like your master and/or slave is bad.

It will always be easier when moving, you can shift a car without ever touching the clutch. just wait for everything to line up and it slides in.

I know what you talking about but try shifting into 1st rolling 5mph wihtout clutch haha. I am saying that when the car is rolling problem goes away. Like I can go in first with difficulty, get some speed, rip it out of first with difficulty and put it back into 1st without trouble

It's probably your hydraulics. Change the master and the slave, especially if you've never changed them or don't know when they were last changed.

If not, then your hydraulics needed to be done anyway and you can put a new clutch in without worrying about old hydraulics ruining it

A simple bleed will usually solve the problem, and you'll know it's the hydraulics. Unfortunately it'll come back obviously. But it might get you through the week while you order parts.

Another option is pumping the clutch 5-6 times, it'll probably go into 1st when stopped a little more easily. Again, this is just a bandaid.

Definitely the clutch master or slave cylinder. Replace both. DO NOT USE BRAKE FLUID THAT HAS ALREADY BEEN OPENED. Use a fresh bottle and when you're done, throw the leftovers away. I replaced 4 slave cylinders and two masters before I learned this.
