Is this possible? Mercedes calipers
I found these in a local junkyard.
Big 4 pistons front and 2 pistons rear.
from a mercedes c230.
Is that possible to push them into miata's wheel?
I know not for 14 inches. But what about 15 or 16?
these calipers are just $11 every one.
for the mount, I have CNC in my lab so that should not be the problem.

it seems like I cannot use this set on miata.
this mercedes front caliper is designed for 13''*1.1'' rotor. On NA miata people use 11'' or 12'' rotor at the most of time. However, I could not find any 11'' or 12'' rotor has a 1.1'' width.
If I run this set on a 11''*0.81'' rotor, I possibly will push the pistons out of the caliper?
please correct me if I am wrong.

by the time you've figured everything out and found a wheel that will clear the caliper you will have spent more than the $600 for the basic wilwood kit
For reference I have bastardized rx7 calipers over nissan altima rotors for my old evo3. Even though I got the calipers free, by the time i got spacers and extended studs and all the other supporting **** I would have been $150 off a proper wilwood kit

I just came back from junkyard and got that calipers. I just bought the front ones because the rear wheels are stuck and I could not reach them....
still that question: can I use bigger caliper on smaller rotor? I could not find any information in Google world because people usually discusses about bigger rotor for smaller caliper.

pay no attention to the paint on the rotors
I am all for making due with what one has but when you live in the USA as far as the car world is concerned you have well....everything?
"You" guys don't rebuild ****, "you" replace it. My brother learned more from my failures and experience vs UTI and their Ford accelerated course. They taught him how to replace ****, not repair it.

Let’s take this from the top.
You want a junk yard merc caliper. Why? Better brakes? If you want to increase the performance of your brakes we’ll need to know the piston area, pad size, pad swept depth, rotor swept depth, pad thickness, compound, master cylinder size, balance of the car, spring rates, average operating temps. Then I’ll need to see what you have in the rear to take up the difference in compound coefficient of friction, rotor size, and hydraulic advantage.
99% of current big brake companies can’t figure this stuff out, and you want to give a go with an old set of rusty merc calipers. I applaud your initiative but I must warn you, to do it right you’re going to need much more than 500 bucks. I’m not sure you understand the amount of work it takes to build yourself a balanced system. If you can’t do the math yourself please look for help from a qualified expert.
