Default Tein SS pricing?

A local buddy of mine is parting out his tein ss with 5,000 miles on it for $550. But I'm looking at TEIN Street Advance Adjustable Coilovers 90 05 Mazda Miata MX 5 Made in Japan | eBay and brand new it's only $650. Should I wait and buy some new ones for $100 more or is $550 a decent price for it?

It depends what you want to do with the car. If you just want to lower it an inch or so and drive around that suspension will work. However, most don't hold its performance in high regard.

Tecnas haven't been around long enough to get good reviews on them but if 949 racing put at least 20% of the development effort that went into the Xida they should be half decent.

For budget performance oriented suspension check out the ebay billstein thread somewhere on this site.

Was looking at the bilstein ebay coilover set up. Would still run me around $500 anyways since I don't have any bilstein anyways should I just pick up the tein for temp usage? How does bilstein compare vs tein ss?

what are your goals. just lowering the car or track performance. look up reviews for both suspension and research monotube gas shocks vs twin tube oil shock.

Do your own research. suspension is subjective and there is not exact answer. It all depends on your goals and budget

(except for Xidas. Xidas are always the answer if you can afford them)

Read reviews for sure. You get what you pay for...
