Default shifter movement

Wondering if anyone has had this problem: we just bought an 02 with FM2 kit, and if I'm accelerating (doesn't even have to be "hard accel) and let off the gas, the shifter seems to move forward a significant amount. It doesn't feel like it's going to pop out of gear; just feels like the whole tranny is shifting forward or tilting forward/down. It seems most noticeable in 2nd and 3rd.

I also have a turbo'd '90, but it doesn't do that at all. Any other Miatas I've driven/autocrossed don't exhibit this type of behaviour either.

I've checked all the transmission/driveline attachment points to the PPF and they are good. As I'm typing this, I realize I didn't check the motor mount bolts -- duh. Any other ideas?

Check the four bolts holding the top plate on the transmission. I have found them loose and the plate sliding around.
