Default Toyo R1R's

Are any of you guys running them? I am really interested in picking up a set. I am getting rid of my warn out Rcomps and looking for something real aggressive for summer/autox duty.

Yeah... I am looking to use these tires for daily summer use. The R1R is more streatable with both a better wear ratting and a much cheaper price.

Not sure how much help I'll be as I don't have much to compare them to, but I've been quite happy with my R1R's. They are very soft and they're wearing quickly, but that's to be expected. They are the first tires I've run since going turbo so I'm not really sure what to expect traction wise.

I dyno'd 210whp a few weeks ago with a slipping clutch, retarded timing, and only being revved to 6200rpms. With those cured I feel like the car should be making 230-240 and I don't have any traction problems at all. A friend with a bolton MSM is running 215 Azenis, he spins through 1st and 2nd and I would pull on him fairly easily.

I bought some lightly used (kinda old and hardened) 195/55/14 Kumho V710's to autocross on. They were amazing before the turbo, but after I was having serious problems with straitline traction. The R1Rs certainly didn't corner as well as the 710's, but were much better in the straits. I actually ended up 0.1 faster on the R1R's after ~5 runs on each tire.

Summary:
225 R1R > 215 Azenis
225 R1R > 195 old hard V710

Take it FWIW I guess.
