Default Motor and diff. mount replacement - how stiff? Ride reports please

I have these on the way: Mazda Competition motor mount and now I need to order some diff mounts as well.

I am debating what diff mount stiffness I should go with.

Goals are a DD with meduim to soft comfort levels - no tracking in it's near future. I don't want a buzz bomb ride.

The car sees about 4 months of cold to (why do i live hear) really cold weather and so that will turn soft rubber into a rock.

I like the price of the ES diff bushings from 949 and the absolute control but think that maybe a better match would be the MazdaSpeed Competition Differential Mounts as they are a bit softer?

Some advice please?

I run the mazdaspeed engine mounts and whatever diff mounts emilio sells. They are a substantial improvement over stock and I could daily the car if I wanted to.

I have mazdaspeed motor mounts, they really dont change NHV much at all. barely noticeable.

i also have FM stainless diff mounts. they added some gear whine and i would not recommend them for a daily driver. they do make the drive train super responsive, I really like them.

That's serious.

I rum MMR diff/motor mounts. I wouldn't do the motor mounts on a daily but the diff mounts rock.

Hmm MMR delrin diff mounts. Anyone else run them? They sound even stiffer than the Enegy Suspension ones. Good price though.

I run the comp mounts on mine and they aren't that big of a deal. Coming from an srt-4 will all around solid mounts...these aren't that bad...lol.

I'm really happy with the mmr motor mounts on my NA, it would certainly be rough in a daily though. I liked my mazdaspeed mounts on my NB for maybe a month, now it feels just like the old stock mounts did (+ a little more vibration). I'm wondering if I broke one already, 100ft/lb of furry I guess. Then again, maybe it's just my imagination.

I think I'm going to go with the ES differential mounts to match the Mazda Comp ones I already ordered.

Thanks again for the advice.

The MMR engine mounts will cause internal bleeding.

And it leaks out of every orifice... will be changing out mine to the MS motormounts soon. Love 'em for getting the power down, but just too much for the street. My Simpson hood, guages, dash, rear shelf, headlights, etc. does not like them one bit.
Will be keep the diff mounts though.

FYI, there is a difference between Mazdaspeed and Mazdacomp mounts. I once recieved Mazdaspeed mounts when I ordered Mazdacomp ones, make sure you check the part numbers.

Mazdacomp mounts all around. Perfect for daily driving. There's only a slight wobble in the rearview mirror when sitting at idle.

+1 Mazdacomp mounts are fine for DD. I noticed a huge improvement in shifter movement (less) over stock, but then again one of the stock mounts was torn
+1 on the ES diff mounts. Also OK for a DD. The diff gets a little noisier but not a big deal IMO.

Search fail BTW. Lots of info on both of these mounts here and at miata.net
