Yep lots. Picked this one up for $200 with flywheel and clutch.
The V6 T5s are not as strong; even the later ones. According to this, I was a few years off on the strongest options.
How to ID a T5
In short, 90-95 are the strongest, but 94-95 has a longer input shaft.
In a mustang application, for 94-98 they continued to use the same VSS sending unit and various internal speedometer gears as before, but the hole for the speedometer cable is plugged. Although it is still mechanically driven, the speedometer only receives an electronic signal. Conceivably, the hole could be unplugged on a 94-95 to use a cable. I'll find out soon enough.
Also, the camaro T5s are mechanical and put the shifter location in roughly the same spot as the mustangs.

.63 is an enormous drop from 1.0 4th. I have destroyed my 5th synchro after 4000 miles??? something like that. I now have to...wait....unnaturally long for the rpms to drop before shifting. May not be an issue with miata flywheels though.
It is nice cruising on the highway, until you want the squirt-thru-traffic-without-shifting torque you're used to with the miata's .8 5th.
I'm going to go with one of the ~$300 .8x 5ths at some point.

My '97 -238 box has a .73 5th. The 35ft.lb difference is negligible, because if you're going to break the 265ft.lb version, the 300ft.lb version won't be long for the world anyway. I fully expect to build mine at some point, probably with the tight-ratio G-Force gearset.

At least longer than the axles do.
And if I need to build it then I get to pick my own ratios anyways.

Miata is 32" front input shaft to shifter.
93 and prior is 26.65
Camaro is 28.34"
Still pretty far away.
My plan is to copy this shifter extension:
Another t45 Tbird in progress... - Page 2 - TCCoA Forums
Looking at it I actually want some room behind the freeze plug, if its only 4 inches forward my shifter linkage will be tight.
So I think the 6" forward is perfect for adapting this kind of shifter extension.

I wonder how bad a longer version of the rear offset shift shift style shifter would actually feel. They already offset the stock 5.0 shifter back like 2 inches. Just the bigger the offset the more the shift plane tilts backwards, IE the more up and down movement that is involved when going forwards and backwards with the shifter.
