Water in the oil? 6spd
I'm slowly building a turbo 99 sport and received a 6spd tranny and 2.9 dif today, it looks very clean but the oil
On the tranny has a green milky tone to it and I dont know how the 6spd oil looked when new but think that it may be caused by a littlewater in the oil.
I will take some of the oil and put it in a vacuum oven to se how mug water boils off it of anny, but how do I get rid of it if it does have water in the tranny? I will not be driving this car for another 4-5 months.
Any suggestions?

Looks like someone treated the oil with dye . . . possibly to track a leak or as a "just in case" to be prepared to track a leak. Hit it with a blacklight and see if it's flourescent.
The only real entry for water would be through the vent at the top.
If you're concerned, you can just let it drain and refill fresh after install (not a bad idea in any case).

I was planing on filling from the turret and i have epoxied the hex on the plug that should not be removed to keep me and others from accidentally taking it of, the seller (panic motorsports) was kind enough to write do not remove on the plug and near it.

Even if there was some water in the trans oil, it should boil out once you did some road testing on it. You do drive flatout , right? Pfft no more water in trans oil.
Anyone with knowledge otherwise feel free to correct me.
