I bought a 1999 JSRC Miata from a very good friend of mine recently. Car has 170K on the odometer and was very well taken care of by a meticulous owner. Upgraded the car with the SC for his 100 mile trip to work each day so it was a little easier for him to get on and off the free way. And when I say he babied it, he made it specifically clear that the car had barely ever seen over 6,000 RPM and he expects me to keep it that way. It was his intention to drive the car to 300K miles (by changing the oil the second he bought it with 20K and every 3K after that. Mobil 1 synthetic only.) but a recent back surgery forced him to sell the car.

Stole it for $3k. New top, tires, brakes, cutch, timing belt and water pump within the last 10k. Paint is trashed with rock chips though. Also has two broken fog lamps and a crack in the bumper lip.

ANYWAY, my first modification to the car will be buying coil overs for it. Coming from the VW community, I like having a car that's lowered. We're not talking SLAMMED but wheel gap for my DD is unacceptable. I am very interested in the PSS9's- despite their goofy spring rates. This isn't a race car and It wil RARELY see the track.

I'm wondering if anyone has any PERSONAL testimonies. And I'm really interested in getting an idea of ride heights achievable with these things. I'll have 15x7 Rota GT3's on the car with 205/50/15 Dunlop Direzza DZ101's.

Thanks man. I'm pretty happy with it but it's a dog. I'm a FI fanatic and not the way I would have went either but hey, better than N/A.

Thank you VERY much for that review! I appreciate it. That's the first-hand experience I've read so far. Now if only I could get an idea of max/min ride height! The way I look at it, I could always change the springs in the rear to a softer ~300 and the fronts just a bit firmer. I don't believe the PSS9's are valved for much more than 400 though. The glory is I have access to a shock dyne and the ability to revolve them myself if need be.

To be honest, I can't find any other setup that is UNDER $1,300 (like the PSS9's) that offers height and dampening adjustability AND the fantastic brand to back them. Will not do V-Maxx before anyone suggests it. Would consider Bilstein HD's with a GC or similar setup but I'd really like to get more fimliar with adjusting dampening/rebound and how they respond to my driving.
