Why are you planning to use a transmission? Weld a tranny input shaft to a lengthened driveshaft.

Well I just read on here about people swapping out 6 speeds because they keep losing 3rd gear. I am just trying to sift through the internet crap and find out my transmission options; ultimately I don't want to be buying and replacing trannies all the time. Sorry, I probably started off on the wrong foot.

Corrected by Hustler because you're a ******* moron who didn't learn 2nd grade level grammar. Literally 2nd grade. You don't understand capitalization, punctuation, conjunctions, and the filler language makes this an impossible read. We communicate respectfully on this forum and there is no excuse for abusing the English language. Apologize to the forum for your disrespect and I might not ban you.

Drain the oil out of your tranny to reduce rotating mass.

It all depends on what you do to it. Savinton is at ~350whp, and rapping the **** out of a 6-speed at the track. Yet thesnowboarder broke one at ~250whp

How much power are you making anyway? Anything under ~250whp i say ban.

Okay, no filler English. I have a completely stock miata, but I don't want to dump a ton of money into it if i am just going to have transmission problems. I had done some reading the past few days and I understand it that miata transmissions break. I want to build a 250-300 hp miata and if it can't be done without blowing up a transmission I don't want to have any part in it. I am sorry for the filler English I can understand that.

You will go back and fix the capitalization and [lack of] punctuation errors or I will ban you right now and no one will help you with your little problem.

Seriously there is not specific power level that will break a 5 speed. Levnubhin has the original tranny at ~300whp. Others break before that. It all comes down to how you drive.

Build your car correctly. Once the 5 speed breaks get a 6 speed.

It all comes down to many factors, but I just don't see how anyone can balk at a stock transmission that is tried and proven to consistently handle 2.5 times what it was designed for...and weighs 75lbs to boot.

I plan on drifting and drag[racing]. I have a friend with an 06 civic Si with boost in mine. My plan is to be use WI boosted on my Miata. I like to get sideways more then drive straight. I read have been reading and I feel I have everything figured out except the for transmission. I also don't want to spend 3 grand on Quaife.
