Default 1.6 diff's are useless. Should I go with 1.6 or 1.8

I broke our 1992 N/A trackwhore's diff in july and felt so de-motivated that didnt do anything to it until today.

1/3 of pinion rings are gone. Good news is that KAAZ LSD seems to be fine.

Now I'm wondering should I swap the LSD into the used 1.6 diff I have waiting or sell the LSD, buy 1.8 torsen with all needed parts and then find/order KIA Sportage's 4.6 R&P in it.
1.6 would cost only the shimming, 1.8 would be different story all together.

Track or street, I'd upgrade to the 7'' ring gear in the 1.8 diff.

I'll have to source KIA 4.6/4.77 ring and pinion from some where. All ideas from where are welcome'd.

Getting the right part only hurts once.
