If degassed shocks were the hot performance ticket every shock manufacturer in the world would get rid of the expensive gas pressurization equipment at their factories.

What did you end up doing? I'm in the same boat with a set of Koni adjustables and getting ready to send them in to ProParts for a rebuild.

Check with them, I had a set rebuilt to the koni race spec for the same price as the standard rebuild which makes the price seem much more reasonable. In a rebuild they replace the valving and shims anyway so it dosent cost anymore for through race shock set up, the shocks just won't be as short as the race version.

dont you almost need that much spring due to the insane amount of rebound the race shocks have?

This isn't for a Miata application so I'm just doing the rebuild because it's much cheaper than buying replacement shocks, good to know for a future upgrade though.

I haven't done anything yet. I found a good deal on a roll bar, so that took away from my shock rebuild funds.

On certain cars, degassed shocks with tons of rebound damping are awesome for stock class. That combination can lower the car a ton. Some of those dampers are very specialized. The clock is the clock, so they do what ever is net fastest. Some of them will finish a run and look lowered…but 10 minutes later they are back to stock ride height.

I don't run that much spring, but I have not had a problem with the rebound being too extreme, I'm happy with where its at now.
