Arrow 2011 Vauxhall VXR8 is all we really want for the holidays

Listen, General Motors. We know you’re kinda busy getting back on track, jump-starting your IPO, and generally getting your house in order. We appreciate it and everything. But could we ask just one favor? You see this Vauxhall? Could you bring it over to this side of the Atlantic, please? You don’t have to bring Pontiac back to do it, no matter how many people are still looking it up on Google. You can slap a Bowtie badge on the nose – heck you can make it a Buick if you want. Call it a Daewoo for all we care. Just bring it here.

What we’re talking about is the new Vauxhall VXR8, and it could very well be the best performance sedan The General offers this side of the Cadillac CTS-V. And it’s just undergone a series of updates, complete with a restyled front end, tail and interior, along with some new gizmos to keep all the power in check.

The VXR8 is based on the Holden Commodore, but instead of the hot ClubSport R8 model on which the previous Vauxhall was based, the new model starts with the new E3 GTS just launched in Australia. That means a 6.2-liter LS3 V8 with 425 horsepower and 405 lb-ft of torque – kept in line by new Magnetic Ride Control and Launch Control systems, driving through a six-speed transmission (automatic or manual) and a mechanical diff – for a 4.9-second sprint to 60 mph and an electronically-limited top speed of 155 mph.

There are plenty more reasons to want this muscle sedan on American shores, pronto, and you can read all about ‘em in the press release after the jump. We just hope someone at the RenCenter is listening.

I'd also like to see VXR8 here for sure. They are using a version of it for the new police car so parts are going to need to be stocked for that and the G8s anyway!

Why are the US makers so slow to realize we want the good stuff here too! Our Ford Focus has been a crapbox for years while the Euro's get this...

What I want is a car that doesn't look like ricer **** from the get go. Who the hell decided on the styling these days? Like that silly-*** grin on the front of Mazdas; it looks like a damn 14 year old, pimple faced nerd sketched it after wanking to some Honda tack-on body kits.

The best looking cars these days are copies of 40 year old designs, such as Mustang, Camaro & Charger. Where the hell are the designers with a sense of style? Where are the Karman-Ghias, the Mercedes Gulwings, the Shelby Cobras? What kid is going to look back 25 years from now and drool over any car? Is there a kid that's going to idolize the generic **** coming off the lines these days?

The front of the new Fords are looking pretty good IMHO. New Taurus for example. Hell even the :gasp: explorer looks good.

I hope the high-ups in GM all die slow deaths. GM is such a shitty company...but we muct place some blame on the masses of fatass, shitty, lazy, worthless Americans that only want the biggest POS they can get for the cheapest price...an SUV.

GM would have been smart to being over the Ute version too....but GM isn't smart.

GM isn't entirely bad....I've been contimplating makin this my next ride down the road when prices depreciate a little more on them. I mean the exterior is mean as hell, the interior is ****, and it comes with a LS3 (400 hp)

GM is ****-poor at making decisions that should be no-brainers. Sure the LSX is a powerful engine..but that doesn't make up for their decision to make 34 new SUVs when gas prices suck and everyone else is marketing more efficent cars. Instead they stick "Hybrid" on the side of aforementioned POS SUVs and brag about going from 12mpg to 15mpg....rather than cutting back and making better cars. OK, so they have the new Volt...which is rather expensive for what it is. Oh and the Volt gets "car of the year"? What the **** kinda of **** is that? You know they bought that just to push that pile out the door. Not to mention having to kill off cars and suck the governments dick to get "saved" because they couldn't do it themselvs. Just watch "Who Killed the Electric Car" and you'll hate them even more. Bunch of pussies up in there.
Yeah the G8 and the GTO are cool...I'd love to have one. But they brought them over too late and didn't push them in the marketing department.

Go Ford. (though Ford needs to bring the damn Falcon over here)
