Default 205 VR-1 Experiences?

We've heard all about the 245 VR-1, but has anyone run the 205?

I ran 205 star specs for half a season. And killed them wayyyyy too fast. Any idea if the VR-1s will last longer?

I've run them at 4 autocross weekends (practice day plus competition day), a track day at laguna seca (drove from los angeles on them there and back as well), they still have plenty of meat on them. I'll get a picture of them tomorrow.

Do they seem wide to you? At a track event in the fall, another driver claimed to have mounted them on 15x8's and the tire looked perfectly square. Zero stretch. He didn't seem pleased with the grip, though I believe he may have been used to r-comps. Seems like they'd work well on an 8.5. Too bad nobody makes one with a decent offset.

8.5 seems like it would probably be the ideal size for most 205's. Mine are on 9's and are probably stretched a bit too much. I think I'll buy another set in a 225 next year.

How did they do at Laguna Seca? How do they compare to other tires that you've driven on?

They had plenty of grip over the regular BFG Rivals. Lap times improved by almost 4 seconds over the previous year with the BFG's, same car same setup only thing that changed was the tires. I'm sure weather, age of the tires and driver improvement played a factor. But I noticed that I could carry a lot more speed in a lot of the corners along with much stronger braking performance.
