I was surprised as well, perhaps someone with similar power-to-weight can comment on how well ~200tw 225 tires such as the RS3 wear on 9" wheels? I have no complaints on the performance and if this is a normal wear rate then so be it, but they are more expensive and if they aren't faster then I see no point

I am running a 225 RS3 and 230 whp in a 2400ish lb car on track.

I have done... 8 20-minute sessions plus about 2 hours on track (the 2 hours were split up throughout a day) plus 7 autocross runs (I know... that only kinda counts) and I'm probably halfway through my RS3's. So.... sounds like wear is pretty similar, and I gave my tires more breaks than you gave yours.

Aidan, you'll notice I said VIRTUALLY. They're down to the wear bars...

they're 9/32s new. That's MAYBE 2/32s at its deepest, no? Hard to tell from the photo

As Sav pointed out, yes they were rotated to even out wear over the weekend. Run directionally in the wet, and mix matched for wear on Sunday in the dry.

Tread only needs to be directional in the rain, that's the only time it's a consideration is for water dispersion to prevent hydroplaning

Some tires have directional casings and running them backwards can cause the case splice to open up. Not sure if the VR-1 is like this, but it's something to keep in mind. Some tires are super picky about this (Toyo RR).

yeah i comes up a lot, i hate the spacers but i haven't found an attractive attractive solution thats not a $800 hood.

Pretty sure David has a K24 valve cover that will clear an NA hood for way, way less than $800
