Default New Falken Azenis 615k+ (and Tire Rack deal)

I'm sure this isn't particularly exciting for most of the community here (maybe stock class autocrossers?), but I'm still rocking 14" Enkei RPF-1's. It looks like Falken just released an improvement to the previous 615k, named the 615k+.

I don't see anything different in the specs, except for tread depth being 7.9/32" versus 8/32" on the old tire. Their website isn't even updated with the tire yet, but there is a press release with some technical fluff.

Developed for the maximum performance-minded driver, the AZENIS RT615K+ is the evolution of Falken’s original competition-winning RT615K tire. The PLUS encompasses an all-new digitally-engineered, nanotech-formulated compound for superior grip and excellent handling. Its confidence inspiring straight line and cornering traits allow drivers to push the limits of their vehicle, in safe, closed-course environments while its street capable durability and DOT approval allow for street-legal daily use.

“The AZENIS RT615K+ is a superior tire for drivers looking to safely push their limits,”

Tire Rack has a $100 MIR (gift card) deal going on currently, which makes a set of 4 $ 258.92
I'm sure it's still a mediocre option for the 15" guys (and probably still worse than 14" star specs), but that's a pretty good deal so I'm gonna give it a go.

I have a set of 615k's on my stock 14's from about 2011. They were a good tire - progressive, pretty good grip, wore well. They get hard after about a year and a half, but that's hardly rare among the 200tw class.

I'm anxious to hear some feedback on these. Hopefully they will be competitive with the vr-1 and ad08r.

Doubtful.. seeing as Falken hasn't been competitive for almost a decade.
