Nickel 6UL's? What's going on here?
So I got 4 boxes in and they said nickle on them but when I busted them open I was greeted with these:
Did something change and the nickle wheels look very much like the silver or did I get the wrong wheels packed in the correct boxes?
For reference my first gen Nickle's:

I'm pretty sure the color scheme has changed a little since that first gen. Look at the rest of the rim, is it black? The nickels have the black "interior" portions (everything besides the face). Silver is all one color, and it looks more 'dull' than the current nickels, but I see where you get your confusion from the 1st gen reference. Much less chrome-like nowadays.
EDIT: This applies to my Gen 2 nickels. Looking at some Gen 3s, I think the nickel might not have the black coloring I mentioned, but that coloring pictured looks like the new nickel.

No dude, the nickel plating is easily the least durable, by a large margin. A small rock hits them and you end up with a dime sized chunk of coating chipping. However, nderneath the top nickel layer is an insanely durable black layer of... something. So you end up with spotted wheels in no time.
I wish I've gotten black/bronze
I wish I've gotten black/bronze
