Default What tire to run on 14''s?

I'm looking at Nitto NT02 in 205/55/14, and Nitto NT555r (205/55) Drag Radials. Looking for something that is pretty sticky to have some fun on boring days/track days. My budget is like $500 for tires.

What do you run on 14''s?

185/60 or 195/60/14 Dunlop Star Specs. I think it's your only choice really. I can't recommend them highly enough. Sticky as all get-out.

Star Specs, hands down.

Choice two is Azenis 615K.

If you also plan to run them on the street, Dunlop Direzza Star Spec is the only DD / trackday tire worth looking at.

for a DD tire with decent tread wear look at these in 185/60
http://www.telstartire.com/DoralSDLBrochure3-05.pdf

280 tread rating. Seem fairly sticky on the street.

Question: Do you mean track days in tracks that are straight or ones that have turns?

Star specs seem like the latter, and your initial options sounded more like the former.

I second the star specs, they are far better than azenis, they wear and grip better. The wonders of new technology.

Star Specs. 5,000mi on mine and just about as grippy as day 1. Star Specs and Blizzaks are the only two tires I need.

I guess does are the Dunlop Direzza Star Specs, some name for a road/track tire.

Like $120 + per tire, thats some chunk of change for 14"s but checking online feedback seem to be very good giving your money's worth.

Here is a link I found that go hands down with the Star Specs...

http://grassrootsmotorsports.com/for...s/23677/page1/

I will try them on my 14" Enkei Del Sol wheels.

^ $120+ per tire? Um, I got mine for like $84 a tire back in like March/April...and a $75 rebate from tirerack when they had the promotion going.

I really wish they came in 225/45. The Star specs should be the right tire for your needs.
