Default 1.6 N/A header

Starting my conversion from 1.6t->1.6->1.8->1.8t by selling off my 1.6 turbo stuff. Therefore, I need a header. Who's got one? Needs to be in the sub $100 range including shipping to 97045 or I'll just buy new from ebay.

Thanks!

I have one you can have, it's in my scrap pile. It's missing the heat shield, but it didn't leak at least.

I'm not sure what it would cost to ship, but you can have it for that if you'd like. I don't imagine it being anywhere near $100

That'd work, get me an estimate if you can please. Just a weight and take a few measurements, then plug it into UPS's shipping calculator. I'll mentally add $20 for packaging.

Alright, I'll do that when I get home later this evening. I've got to break it loose from the midpipe real quick, think I have the perfect sized box for it too. I'll PM you here in a bit

It's gotta go down to the cat, fyi. But I think you mean you'll break it down for shipping size?

Oh, mine's been welded funky past the header flange, the cat is long gone. Do you want a picture of what I've got?

Sure that'd probably help.

I honestly don't know what all happened to this thing, but I guess it does have a cat. I don't think it's OEM, it can't be removed like a test pipe or anything.

Yeah I only need the header, not the cat piece. Do I see a flange on the end of the header?

Yep, I'm pretty sure it's a stock flange there. It looks a lot like this piece here, and I did fit a 1.6 paper gasket from the parts store in there once when I welded the mini muffler on.

Edit: Just to clarify, you need both pieces in this picture here right?

Is curly the last mod hanging onto a 1.6 turbo setup? Weren't they all running them for a while?

Yes, I need it all the way to the cat, which should be that flange, so pictured above is what I need. Grab a shipping quote and let me know, please.

Alright, I broke the downpipe and header apart but it looks like I need a box that's just three inches taller.

One of the three studs on the header itself stripped out pretty bad and I don't have a stud grip thing to take it out, still OK?

All depends on the shipping price!

Right on, I've got to go look for a different box or something. I must be dumb, but the UPS shipping calculator website says $77 freaking dollars. That can't be right, Lars just sent me a whole torsen for less.

The box I have now is 19x19x28 and I'm guessing it weighs around 15lbs or so? I'm at 66046 if you want to see what you can come up with.

I guess the dimensions are what's killing it, I'll need another day or two to find a smaller box that's still long enough. I think 8x10x36 ought to get it closer to $30 bucks or so.

If I lie and say it's books I guess I can send it for $10 though.

Ok, well after all the trouble, a local finally got back to and said he might have one. Let him check his garage tonight and get back to me, might be able to save ourselves the trouble.

Alrighty, sounds good. I think I might be able to cut a box up and make it smaller if he can't find one.
