Is the LC-1 a wideband o2 controller? Check out the new one from NGK. AFX Wideband. I got mine for $250 and it uses the NGK 5-wire sensor.
http://www.ngk.com/afx/ <---this one.
I'm using it with the AEM EMS and the range is 9-16:1 a/f with 0-5v linear output from the controller.

CAn you even datalog with the NGK unit? for the same price you can get the LC-1 with a nice gauge, plus it can hookup to your laptop and other outputs as needed.

The ngk has a single 0-5v analog out for connection to a data aquasition system. I guess the thought is that datalogging a/f without referencing it to other variables (rpm, boost, temp, throttle position, etc) isn't terribly useful.

That being said, I still went with the the lc-1. It has the ability to simulate nb o2, while outputing to a datalogger, gauge, and a laptop.

I think the expandibility of the LC-1 is what makes it desirable. For $130 you can log an additional 4 inputs by adding the SSI-4. You can really build on the basic system.
