I have one laying around somewhere. Good journals, no marks. There are a few scuffs in the area of the front oil seal, but I never had issues with leaks.

PM me if interested.

Pics:

It came from a 85,000 mile 99 engine. guessing the scuffs came from previous owner trying to swap a seal. I bought the engine out of a wrecked 99 with 75,000 miles on it.

Not sure if you are looking for anything else, but I have a 1.8 block bored to 84mm with low comp supertech pistons that I'll be selling. Only 500 miles since put together. Also a full set of Carrillo rods with the same mileage.

Let me know if interested.

Thanks,

Jason

Wait, that's exactly the motor was going to put together.

Why separating it only after 500? That's barely broken in. 8.6:1 supertechs?

I get weary about buying a built block as that's what I had done and now I have to replace it 4k later. Is this what the crank came from? I'm unsure if I should start with completely fresh parts or if I want to chance it again with another motor that's been run and pulled.

Shoot me a price either way. Let me know if you have any paperwork from machine shop for balancing etc

I have some interest in the block. But is it the one that had the 'built' head on it that you also have for sale? That head had scored cam journals from debris in the oil. Even though you said that it had perfect oil pressure, I'd still have to take the block apart to inspect it for peace of mind.

What year block is it (i.e. does it have the oil/coolant ports underneath the exhaust manifold)?
What compression pistons?
Do you have the build specs (piston-to-wall clearances, bearing clearances, etc)?
Where are you located?

Thanks,
--Ferdi

It is from the same setup as the head. I am going to be pulling this shortblock apart to inspect things before I sell anything. I am pretty sure the head damage came from debris in the head from the machine shop. The block is a 99, no passages for oil under the ex manifold. They are the 8.6:1 pistons, 84mm diameter. No specs on clearances, I was using stock size bearings. Carrillo rods and ARP studs will be available as well. I am located in Cleveland, OH. Here is a vid of the engine running (cold start):

Thanks,

Jason

Sorry I didn't get back to you. I may be interested in the bottom end, but my EFR just fragged itself. If you're willing to ship, I'm sure we can work something out. I'd love to know the piston to wall clearance, however, as well as results of the teardown.

I'm also really close to just calling it with my car and letting it go. Already have to replace the motor and turbo. I think you're right about the v8 swap.
