Check these threads from the adaptronic forum;

Adaptive tuner
Login

Android logger
Login

Bluetooth adapter (similar type atleast)
Serial Bluetooth RF Transceiver Module RS232 Backplane | eBay

I plan on installing one of those adapters inside my ecu when I take it out to wire the check engine light up.
There is a special pairing sequence that needs to be done on first use which should be described in the first thread.

.......many thanks for the links.

So, can this be used to edit a tune on a E240c ecu, or is it for logging/viewing purposes only?

Thanks.

- much easier/better to download the PC-WARI software from the Adaptronic site if you want to do any tuning.

Android app is more suited to tweaking than full-blown tuning.

Hey Lokiel,

Tweeking is ok with me. Have WARI on a PC, but having this APP on a small tablet would be good.

Also have a question regarding Windows 8 tablets and WARI. Will start a new thread.

See you over on MX5CARTALK.

My understanding is that it will help to edit a tune in the context that if you road tune with 'adaptive mode' (slow converge or rapid learn) selected in WARI, certain conditions of rpm and load have to be met before the ecu will adjust your map...and the app will tell you when those conditions have been met.
So whilst you're driving you can vary the rpm and load and keep an eye on the tablet screen for when given rpms and loads are in states which permit the ecu to adjust your map, and try to hold the car at a given rpm and load long enough for that adjustment to take place.
Additionally the android app will display the gauges which are otherwise shown in WARI by pressing f2, and hopefully do this in a manner which will allow an eye to be kept on critical parameters whilst on track.

Thanks Pensior.

The ability to monitor the RPMS/Loads while driving to allow the ECU to adjust the map is the sort of thing I am looking for. I used to do this when I had a FM/Link ECU and hand controller on a previous turbo MX-5.

Personally i hate the wari F2 screen. I wish this was available for windows as well.

Hi,
A quick line to say that with a lot of help from Shell Shrader (who created the app), Andy at Adaptronic, and Trev on MX5 Nutz I've managed to plug a bluetooth transmitter into our e420c, and have it transmit data to my Nexus 10 such that Shell's app displays gauges of the running engine.
It's awesome.
I can't drag myself away from the fascination of sitting in the car in the garage blipping the throttle just to watch the gauges respond on the Nexus.
Looking forward to trying the adaptive learning screen for road tuning.

Sorry for digging up an old thread...

Stephen, which bluetooth transmitter did you use and where did you get power from?

Cheers

I used these and works well for me. I pulled the 5v signal from my cigeratte lighter socket but I suppose you can tap one of those 12v socket usb adapter for a permanent solution.

Do remember to change the baud rate to 19200 via hyperterminal.
