dyno tuning / ve tables / drivability
Heey there all, I'M IN ARLINGTON, VIRGINIA
Soo I got stuck in 2 hours worth of traffic lasnight with my new girlfriend... car stalled a bunch of times, couldn't run the AC in traffic, and a slew of other issues crept up in the middle of a hot date. I know I have been putting this off too long; but I am now ready to call a professional to help me dial this car in. I used search and tried looking for "that guy" that has dynoed a million miatas before, I think he used to work for FM? Anyhow, I am really looking for someone that can whip my car into shape and get rid of all of my little issues. My new GF suggested that next time we bring her car... not the way I wanted the night to go... so it's time to do this and be done with it. Can you guys suggest the best place to have my 2002 Adaptronic'd car dynoed? I'll drive up to 10 hours one way just to have it done right... I'm looking to have her all dialed in... ie, VE tuning, flat shifting, boost per gear, EBC, all that good stuff. I have the parts but not the time or patience any longer. :( Just toooooo busy at work and at home to get back into the mindset. help, please :) If you all don't mind... I'd love to hear who is the best candidate for this job. It's important to me that this car be drivable and not get all pissy on me. :) Thanks and cheers, Prospero |
I don't have a good option for you but where do you live?
Have you tried using other peoples maps like zx-tex for example. He has his car well dialed in I believe and should get you pretty darn close to where you want to be. |
Might help if you tell people where you are located.

Oooppppsss.....
I am near Arlington Virginia :) Thanks, Matt |
I talked to Evan's Tuning in PA near Philly and he was willing to tune my miata with adaptronic. Unfortunately, with my poor judgement, I went to the dyno day before having that done. Blew my motor....but we all know that story now. Anyways, he is one of the best tuners on the east coast as far as I'm concerned.

the name you're looking for is Ken Hill I think.
or just come over to my house with a few bottles of 12+ year old single malt. |

DEFINITELY get together with y8s man.......After mimicking his maps and seeing his spreadsheets the guy looks like he knows 200% more about this shit than all of us other Adaptronic users:)

I have yet to set up EBC, flat shift, or boost by gear, but those are trivial for drivability.
I can definitely take a look at your setup. you're local so it's no big haul to travel. which is good because as you know I've set up my own harness and didn't use a lot of the Adaptronic's features. I'll PM you my # and email. |
I wish I was on the East coast for at least a few months:facepalm:
Seems like all you mofo's help each other wrench on cars and tune/have dyno days all the time.........jealous |
