GM MAP and IAT sensor to miata wiring
is there a schematic or diagram somewhere? Or can someone tell me which wires go to which on the 96 miata?
Thanks |
Did you get the plug and play loom? If so, Travis should be able to send you the install doc with the wiring. With my setup I used the IAT wiring from the sensor on the airbox for the GM IAT. I wired in the MAP sensor on the plug and play harness itself since I already had a vac line going into the cabin.

Cool Thanks.
BTW 96 is differnt than 99. single 5 wire plug for MAF. no IAT in OEM configuration. so IAT and MAP wires to it. except the 5V (goes to TPS). I had it up and running before, but I swapped to OEM over the winter and havn't messed with it in a while. and I forgot to label the wires, Duh. thought someone might be able to rattle the colors off for me. I think I got it though. MAP = Orange/signal Red w/white stripe Black/ground Black w/blue stripe Red/power Spliced 5V from TPS not wired to harness IAT = 3rd and 4th MAF pins, polarity doesn't matter. Let me know if I am wrong. |
Hello Guys,
Is there a wiring diagram that show in detail how to wire the IAT to the correct wires from the car as well as wiring the MAP correctly? Also do I need a different TPS sensor, or does the one on the car work still with the wiring change? I have a 1995 Miata that I plan to turbo but I want to get the wiring sorted out. I plan to use the MegaSquirt ECU. Thanks |
wire the AIT back through the MAF connector.
you do not need a different TPS sensor. This is the Adaptronic forum, but you still want to go MS? |
Hello,
I apologize! I did not know this was an Adaptronic forum. My goal for right now is to really understand how the wiring works (when I turbo my 95 Miata) for the AIT, MAP sensor (if I do not go with the MS) and the TPS. I have been doing a lot of research and found some other thread taking about this but I just wanted a little more detail... Thank you and please let me know if there is another thread I can view for this type of question. |
AIT goes into the MAF connector.
MS has a MAP sensor built in. Nothing needs to happen to the TPS. |
