Installs will be available starting in April!

Hello Everyone,

Boundary will be doing installs on the Adaptronics starting in April when we get our new shop space up and running.

This is good news for those that are close and far away. I'll finally get my hands on each model of car to produce standard base maps for each year and more turbo systems instead of relying on third parties to get maps back to me (not that I don't appreciate them!) Its just good to have your hands on the tune yourself so you can get idle tuned in really well.

Let me know if anyone is interested in an install, Located in Southern Indiana actually just 15 mins north of Louisville KY. We should have lifts working by then as well so we'll be able to perform most of any aftermarket installation pretty easily.

Best,
Travis

And I get to be the first one!! Miata at least...

Where is your shop going to be Travis?

TravisR 03-12-2010 12:35 AM

Its going to be over on Corydon Pike if you know where that is. Just off the Georgetown exit, take a left when you get off, take the second left and follow it down the winding road. It will be over there on the left. You can also come up from New Albany, go out main street and take the branch to the right on Corydon Pike and follow it up. You'll definitely have to come out too.

Very familiar, nice spot. Nothing like having a great twisty road right out the back door of the shop, lol. I'll definitely come check it out when you open up.

Good news about base maps.

Any luck on my AIT sensor Travis? Still in limbo.

TravisR 03-13-2010 10:40 AM

Hello Jay, its on its way, but it will probably still take 3-4 days to get there.

Best,
Travis

Want to try to conquer a 96 with VVT over the long easter weekend? If so sign me up, after the last year of head scrathching, it would be worth the 20 hour roundtrip drive.

18 days later and nothing.

I'm just going to send you another one. Its a 20 dollar part, I'd brather you get it then go through another one of these episodes of waiting and waiting for it in forever never canada/US postal system. I'll get the declaration form number out to you today.

jayc72 03-31-2010 11:36 AM

Too late. I'm going to get it locally, as per the email I sent. Yes it is only a $20 part, BUT it is a show stopper for me getting my car on the road.

You can blame the postal service all you want, but where is the tracking number? How was the item sent? In our correspondence I stressed that I would need the part fast and asked you to ship it quickly. I'm not going to go through the entire time line here, but this has been going on since January 11th. I've done MANY transactions with vendors in the US and I've never had this much trouble before. Are you sending shit to Canada via mule service?

To get this part locally is nearly $100 from a dealer ($59 for the AIT, $36 for the pigtail). High cost but I can have the part in my hand today. I could order it online and save, but I'd be looking at another week to get it.

Anyway, I'm done. Paypal me back the $20 I paid and I'll get the part myself.

Sorry to vent in this thread, but I'm frustrated.

I hope you get your shit together.

Hello Jay,

The service used was USPS, and I'm currently in a move so my files are all over the place with declarations tickets. Its an unfortunate side effect of a transition, and I apologize for the inconvenience. Like the Adaptronic that was sent to Canada via USPS (which I trust was post marked 1 month prior to when I sent it) it took over 1 month to arrive. I'm not sure if its because of customs forms, general problems in making the transfer from USPS to Canada, or what, but my shipments to Canada have been significantly delayed. I can't do anything with the package even if a number was given as the Canadian post won't do anything with shipments which have less then 2 months of time between delivery and sent date.

On a side note, the GM temp sensor is not required for the operation of your vehicle. Many cars including an MSM tuned a couple months back, my vehicle, and many others use the stock sensor reading atmosphere for readings. As long as its tuned according to its AFR air temperature efficiency of your inter cooler/compressor system is taken into a account directly by the fuel table. As a matter of fact when the MSM was switched to a post compressor turbo after he tuned only realized changes in AFR at less then .2-.3 on average which is nearly within the margin of error for the sensors.

There is a lot of to-do about post compressor air temperature sensors, but unless your car would experience extreme heat soak fuel delivery should only be off by 2-4% in the worst cases from a properly tuned map.

I will refund your money as requested. If you receive the temperature sensor you are free to keep it of course.

Best,
Travis

jayc72 03-31-2010 12:42 PM

The factory air temp sensor is in the MAF, which is in a box under my bench. So right now the car literally does not have one.

Thanks for the refund.

TravisR 03-31-2010 01:22 PM

I would go as far as to say run it without for a few weeks, and let me send this one express. The most it will be off is a few percent (which you won't realize tuning to a level it will matter by the time the sensor arrives), and as long as you have a water temperature sensor your cold start and warm-up driving should be largely unaffected.

Best,
Travis

well thats 320-330 miles for me but from the looks of it i'll bite the bullet and have the bad boy tuned by some one that knows what the hell they are doing. What price tags are we looking at here for complete install and tune? I have the turbo installed with discoed wastegate. Got the Adaptronic in the box just like u sent it to me. Car is running on stock ecu.

triple88a 04-12-2010 08:51 PM

2 weeks and no response? :(

TravisR 04-13-2010 03:07 PM

Hey Sorry! I don't always get to all parts of the forums.

270 for install, and ~100 or so for a street tune. Dyno tune and the works would probably be closer to 300. For most peoples needs a street tune will get them %90 of where they want to be.

Let me know if you have any other questions.

triple88a 04-14-2010 10:02 PM

what is street tune exactly? Driving on the butt dyno or what?

triple88a 04-29-2010 02:14 AM

bump ^?

what are your working hours and so forth?

I'm asking for more info since i'd rather have some one install and tune the ecu that knows what they are doing than the shop down the street that has only installed intakes and rattlecans.

What about the air temp sensor? Do you guys include that int he installation or do i need to mess around with that before i get thhere or whatever the case might be?

My intake is steel so it should be easy to weld a bung on there.
