MAP Sensor Leak

Finally had a chance to calibrate my sensor and retune my map this week so I went out and bought a vacuum pump.

Is it normal for air to escape this fast? MVI_1818 on Flickr - Photo Sharing!
I tested the gun and tube on my thumb and air didn't escape. I am pretty sure the leak was coming from the sensor it self.

I was barely able to calibrate it. I had to pump it while pressing learn.

The values I got for it were:

Low 16 343
High 300 3500

If the map sensor is leaking, could this explain my higher idle when hot?

Mine never leaked. How much vacuum can that pump generate? If the sensor or line is leaking, then it would create a bit of a higher idle.

that's funny, I was just noticing a similar thing over the weekend.

I hooked my mityvac up to the map sensor to recalibrate and it was damned hard to hold in one spot. it was maybe 1/3 as fast as yours at leaking. I noticed pinching the line made the leak stop.

I pinched the line and used a zip tie. It didn't make a difference.

Hmm, I will go out and buy a gauge tomorrow and see what happens...

I stil have little issues here and there but figured out heat is really a problem right now :)
