MAP Sensor Leak
Finally had a chance to calibrate my sensor and retune my map this week so I went out and bought a vacuum pump.
Is it normal for air to escape this fast? MVI_1818 on Flickr - Photo Sharing! I tested the gun and tube on my thumb and air didn't escape. I am pretty sure the leak was coming from the sensor it self. I was barely able to calibrate it. I had to pump it while pressing learn. The values I got for it were: Low 16 343 High 300 3500 If the map sensor is leaking, could this explain my higher idle when hot? |
Mine never leaked. How much vacuum can that pump generate? If the sensor or line is leaking, then it would create a bit of a higher idle.

that's funny, I was just noticing a similar thing over the weekend.
I hooked my mityvac up to the map sensor to recalibrate and it was damned hard to hold in one spot. it was maybe 1/3 as fast as yours at leaking. I noticed pinching the line made the leak stop. |
I pinched the line and used a zip tie. It didn't make a difference.

Hmm, I will go out and buy a gauge tomorrow and see what happens...
I stil have little issues here and there but figured out heat is really a problem right now :) |
