Default Idling on adaptronic, rough idle, help please!

Hey guys, put in the Adaptronic today.
it started up pretty much right away, but its idling rough and the wideband says its lean... what do i do? i have no idea what to adjust etc...
if someone could give me their number, or call me at 408-209-8472, it would really help me out!
Thanks!

I'd find a good book on tuning cars before you get further in over your head.

The installers manual (travis should have given it to you) explains the adaptronic functions pretty well also.

I'm guessing he got it figured out. We had a conversation about it, and I worked his map over a little bit. I never heard back from him though so hopefully he's boosting away.

Anyone else notice the motor having slightly more vibration after the Adaptronic install? He said it was shaking more after he installed the ECU, but the idle was rock solid. I never noticed it.

I talked to him after you. He had to stop for time constraint reasons. Not there yet but he will get there.

I have had in the past and still occasionally have some violent shudders if cranking fuel isn't right. I'm talking serious engine shuddering.

Yea I've had that before. He was talking about after it was idling though. I was thinking it could be that the idle advance is different? Little different AFR too. I thought all in all it was really smooth.

Hopefully I helped. I still think your fuel map looks crazy i flattened it out heh. I just don't understand why that one row is so low! My idle on stock injectors was at 2.xx, and that row is at .86 or so. I'm thinking its in between those two rows. So your backing the one below it off until the interpolated value is right for idle.

Dunno. I just tuned everything to hit reasonable AFR's then. I reused that map with a -58 trim across the board and have been driving on my 600's and autotuning. Working great.

You know as long as it works it doesn't really matter at all how you get there.

looks like tomorrow, i will get some more time to get the adaptronic running on the car..
i should be working on it by about 3-4ish.
i understand that i have to tune the no load idle and revving settings before i can let the autotune do the rest of the stuff. first off though, are there any other things i need to tune for besides fuel during no load idle and revving it? do i need to adjust spark, or anything else to make it idle better, or is it just fuel?
as far as adjusting the no load revving, do i rev to a certain rpm, (1500, 2000, 2500, 3000,3500 and 4000) and hold it their, take note of the afr while holding the rpm, and then for that rpm couloumn in wari adjust the fuel to maintain an afr of less the 14ish?
sorry for my super noob questions.. i know this is oober noob status but please bare with me guys!
again if anyone is able to help me out tomorrow, and get my car boosting, i would be soo happy, i would owe them forever and ever! hopefully the other oober noobs can benefit from my questions..
thanks again guys!

After you get the idle stable, you only have to rev and hold 1500, 2000 and 2,500 max. Tune those cells while you hold the RPM. It helps to have a helper, but I did all of mine alone. After that, the rest will autotune. Tune for 14 AFR now in those cells. You can tweak it later. Yes, you will tune fuel only. The base spark map is fine for now.

If you follow the manual it is pretty clear on what to do. Also, it will show you how to change the ECU from open loop to Rapid Learning. You need to reread the manual before going at this again.

update: today, i hooked the adaptronic back up the car. realized i had no map reading.(under guages, next to map, it just has a "-".) checked the connections on map, checked the voltage at the map sensor, everything is fine. stein recommended reinstalling the firmware on the adaptronic.
i reread the instructions several times, followed them to the word and basically, the firmware is not being reinstalled. it just fails on a certain packet during the install, and then says failed too many times. i tried more times to reflash the software, but the results were the same. i have vista 64 bit so i am not sure whether this is because of my laptop, but i am not sure what to do next. i am planning on trying to reflash with another laptop and seeing if that works. otherwise, i looked and couldnt really find any info as to why the reflash isnt working.
just to verify, the firmware i am using is the same one provided on boundary engineerings website, Adaptronic_V10OB.adf, and the flashit version is from there as well, its flashitv1.
my friend suggested also checking the signal line voltage coming from the map sensor. would this work to tell me if the sensor is working/sending a signal?
thanks alot guys!

As long as it has 5v and gnd connected properly you should see a voltage output. Some info the sensor:

The problem with the flashing is always the USB to serial interface. I have a prolific brand, and that works really well. I'm not sure why the map sensor isn't reading unless its not hooked up correctly. Even if the unit does need to be flashed, it should always read something on the MAP.

If it fails on the same packets, then there is the possibility of a corrupt flash file. Download a new copy and try that. If it fails the same that will eliminate that possibility and keep you from waasting effort going down too many rabbit holes.
