It has occurred to me that i am clueless about the knock function of the adaptronic.

what values are too high?
under what conditions should i calibrate the sensor for base engine noise?

I would think that you would calibrate it na off boost. There is a previous thread in the subsection if you look. It has the information you should need.

Out of curiosity, do you have a huge spike around 4000-4300? Mine has always had one there. Last night I did a 5th gear roll on to 7K and let it wind all the way back down to 2K and the spike was there on the way up AND on the way down. I'm sure it isn't knock, especially on the way down with the throttle shut.

BTW, I saw values of 147 last night. Generally I see around 100 or so. If it is at the 4K range, I ignore it. I have such a conservative tune that I know I don't have knock so I haven't worried about it too much.

ZX-Tex came up with a good starting point for a knock map if you check his posts in the adap forum.
