OMG!!! This thing is sick!!!

So I found my problem... one of my intercooler pipes had come off completely during my trip to the office and hence no boost. 11mm nut on 3 hose clamps later and one drive down the street and sonofabitch!!!!!!

Hit 14 PSI from my wastegate adjustment earlier in the day but no knock, no issues, and no blowing up. :) :) Drove the car and am completely in love with Adaptronic and Stein's map. Still have a bit of tuning to do tho now all of my issues have come to really make sense. I was running my car with no MAF and therefore where I would have seen this problem in the past... the car actually ran fine with my TB inlet 90% off. Neatest damn thing I have seen!

So tightened all of my pipes and drove the car home in a painful way. Who would have thought that a shit eating grin for 2 hours would have been painful?

Thanks to all for the help!

Cheers,

Prospero

I really have to get these kind of quotes up on the website!

Congratulations on the successful install!

My car always turns a few times when cold, but I haven't experimented with new settings yet. I've been working on the cold performance, which is VERY good on the new maps.

Yes, I will get it to you. I changed a bunch from the last one. I'm running peak/hold again instead of saturated. It's running well. Everything except for the lean tip in. I need to get that fixed. I'm on the road now but will get it to you shortly.

Thanks Stein!

Travis, you have my blessing if you want to quote me on this!

FYI, Stein's map has only been tuned to 160kPa, as I'm still running 7 psi wastegate. I have actually ignored the part of the map above 160kPa completely.

Well, you have done well for yourself since there has been no issue at 7+ PSI.

Quick question... does Closed Loop mode do tuning or do I need to change this to slow converge? Oh, and how is your idle? My car still does not like starting the first time... seems that it will die after running only for a few seconds. I generally help it with my foot for a few seconds and then it is okay afterwards. Just that first time is a little sketchy!

Prospero

Rapid learning first (makes gross adjustments based on wider tolerance of RPM and kPa. Run it that way for a day or so then switch to Slow Converge. If you aren't seeing any really bad spots you can go straight to slow converge.

My idle is likely to be different from yours as I went through the idle procedure and adjusted the screw on the TB. You may just have to bump the short post and long post after cranking if the idle seems fine after the first few seconds.

Stein, thanks again for the help. Set things into Rapid Learning for a couple of trips to the office and will go Slow Converge on a long drive this weekend. Gonna play with the idle some since AC / electrical loads bog the engine badly for a few seconds before the ECU picks up on it.

Also starting to prep the install of EBC this weekend and hope to experiment with traction control since we supposed to get rain. Calibrated MVSS and will do the rest later on.

On a side note, accidentially hit the rapid learning on ignition too... moved it back to closed loop; but will have to finish what I started later on next week. :vash:

Thanks again for the assistance and lemme know if you want a copy of this map when I get the tune done for the 7+ PSI side.

Cheers,
Prospero

MVSS reflecting actual speeds? I've never bothered with it, obviously.

Yeah, send it back when you get the upper ranges of the map tuned. I'd like to get my bigger IC installed this weekend. Depends on whether I am cutting hay or not.
