so i have a 99 and it has cel codes. i keep seeing people say you have an adaptronic so you can make them not show or turn off... something like that.

HOW DO I DO IT!!!!!1 it's inspection time and i just got the car running with neutral switch not working, idle to high, rear o2 to high (no cat), ect.

dallas you just can't have more then 2 not really and no cel codes showing.

I've never seen the CEL pop up since I installed the adaptronic.

i have high idle currently p0504 and will get more i bet.

was told the adap was ob2 friendly (would show ready codes for inspection) or do you just have no codes cuz there is nothing wrong or removed from your car that would give code.

Same here! I don't think that Adaptronic has a secondary function to pass OBDII testing... Y8S spent tons of time and effort to make his work; so if he had to spend a shitload of time, well then it's gotta be a bitch!

I have to go through smog soon and am simply going to swap injectors back to stock, wire open my WG valve, install my MAF again, remove Adaptronic... and then cross my fingers after driving for a day my codes will be only the good ones

and guess what? I have codes now.

My hours and hours and HOURS of hacking and modding and trickery allowed me just enough days to run all the obdii monitors and drive to the emissions test code-free and pass like a normal car.

i've decided it's easier to just remove the turbo stuff and run on the stock ECU once every 2 years.

You don't have to take everything out of the engine bay. You just have to take off the intake charge pipe, reinstall stock intake, put stock injectors back in, undo any bandaids.

If you run EGR-less though, that ******* sucks because then you have to take off the exhaust manifold, turbo, downpipe, your EGR block off place, and reattach all that bullshit.

I am due at some point and I have no idea what to do. I am not going to take all my turbo **** off. Maryland now just does an obd scan and visual inspection. If only there was an OBD spoofer..

Will a car be guaranteed to fail with no EGR?

the stock ecu will kick a egr code and 1 code is an automatic fail so yes. If that light is on, they wont even connect the OBD tester.

The best thing in my opinion is if you can go into the settings and select "stock ecu mode" so all the wires virtually bypass the adaptronic unit. this way everything uses the stock ecu but without having to unplug the adaptronic unit. Almost make the unit like a piggy back in that mode.

If you have a slip on hose with a clamp type connection (barbed fitting) you can try pulling it off the turbo and simply keeping that hose up high, even use a screw to block it off so nothing goes in it.

Whenever the time comes for me, i'll pull the adaptronic, pull the injectors, unhook the wastegate so the turbo does not spool up, add the stock maf and test it next day or the day after.

Yep, this about sums it up. I'll leave all of my turbo gear in, wire open WG... swap injectors, wire up the MAF / install the intake pipe, pull Adaptronic completely out to avoid any issues... drive for a few days like an old woman

Hell, I am even gonna pull out my WB02 and other gauges just to keep the inspector from digging deeper. Sure if he sees a WB02, boost gauge, and EGT... they will open the hood and screw me :(

In my area they do not connect to the OBD port. I'd pull out the CEL bulb either way. Would no EGR cause high Nox or Co2 emissions?

What is this setting you are talking about "Stock ECU Mode". I have never seen it. Which firmware? Or is this something you're dreaming of?

#2 some boreds have jumpers that let you turn aux out 1 - 4 be controled by the stock ecu. on my car i have aux 1 set to stock so the oem ecu take care of all the idle functions. i love it, car starts and idles every time.

That's how I passed in february. No need to remove any of the intake plumbing, just keep your foot out of it like Matt says.

This? I have all the jumpers on the right side in the "Factory" position. What does each individual jumper do? My car idles almost like factory with this too with this.

I've thought about changing the jumpers to stock idle, I'm just too lazy to pull out the board and do it though.

It would suck if I ever had to get emissions testing on this thing though. I had 10 codes last time I checked. And I sold my egr pipe with my stock header, so I can't even add it back on easily

Ahh, this is what the new board looks like Had I not figured out my idle last week, lol, I would be curious to see if this would do the trick!

Can you idle 600s with no MAF installed?
