the engine is running a little rough at idle right now. still working on tuning. everthing after idle and taking off is gravy, but running super rich and killing my gas millage. Every time I go to take off from a stop, the car will sound like a tommy gun and it seems like it miss fires. This only happens when I am letting off the clutch and giving it gas, and it happens no matter what gear I am in. Unfortunatly today the miata left me stranded. The dipstick was low, I didn't realize I had an oil leak from my drain plug bolt. There was however still some oil on the dipstick. It was on the very bottom of the lower line of the stick. I'm not sure if this can cause my car to not start, or if it was from fouled plugs. I'm guessing it was a combination of both. The starter is completly gone and will not even click over. I manually turned the crank and checked to see if my rods and pistons were still in one piece, thankfully they were. But some other things I realized today, I forgot to put in the thin peice of sheet metal that goes inbetween the transmission and the engine block :vash:. This has a ground strip and I dont know if this contributes to a part of the tach being off. I drove through some gravel today and i'm not sure if a piece of gravel entered my bell housing, which kinda worries me. But another question I had was, would low oil cause my engine to suddenly hessitate and bog down? Or is this another problem I am faced with? I noticed that after i drove on gravel that my engine bogged down tremendously. It was fine before i hit the gravel road but all the while I was still somewhat loosing oil.
