Trigger setup

Is everyone with an NB using 79 and 10 degrees as the ignition timing mark angles in the trigger setup?

Mine are set to 77 and 8 degrees. It was set like this with a timing light by my tuner, but I've got a water to air intercooler so it's a bit hard to see the markings.

I'm just wondering since the sensors are fixed, all NBs should be the same, is this correct?

If I were to change this back, would I have to add 2 degrees of timing to my entire ignition map?

Yes, thats the way it works. The best way to do it is to go in with a trigger light that has an adjustable dial on it for advance/retard and dial it in exactly using the dial. Then go digitally adjust the offset on the Adaptronic to get true advance on the car.

Thanks Travis.

So is anyone here with an NB not using the defaults of 79 and 10 degrees?

my car wouldn't crank with the 79,10 defaults. I had to set it to -10 (69,10) to crank. I have pretty aggressive timing settings too, I grabed the timing map I had on my prevous setup (IRTB's, freeedom ECU). so not sure if its my timing or not.

<--- using 79/10 defaults. someone borrowed my timing light.

and I plan to reset to the 79/10 default and adjust my timing map accordingly. if I have to adjust -10 degrees then something is just plain wrong.

I have mine on 79/10 again, but interestingly I have my cranking timing set to 0 for the best starts.
