Wideband

What wideband are you guys using? Want to use something someone else is using so if I have troubles there will be some relative advise.

I"m using the AEM UEGO on mine. So is 18psi. Either it or the Innovative Motorsports LC1 will work serially. Shouldn't matter which one. There is one setting to change in WARI to set the right protocol, but it is just a drop down menu and pick which brand you have.

Do you know with the LC1 which one to buy? There is the standalone and the basic...I am thinking the basic right? The only difference is the display...but do you really need the display if your computer is hooked up and reading what's going on?

I have the one with the gauge and wouldn't do it otherwise. Mine is mounted on the steering column in full view. Nice to have a set of eyes on it to make sure everything is OK. Just last week myself and another poster showed the WB displaying nothing. His was without a gauge and only knew because he had his computer hooked up. I knew as soon as I cranked it. Both cases it was just a loose connector. I would hate to be trusting it and not have it working. Peace of mind for me.

True, I actually just found one with a gauge on sale for 229 on Innovate's website.

Just in case anyone wants/needs one too...damn, never mind, it doesn't have a serial output for the computer, have to get their XD-1 for that.

**edit**

The LC-1 should have a gauge output and a serial connector for the adaptronic. I didn't get mine with a gauge, but doesn't the gauge hook upto the linearized out? Then the serial cable links to your stand alone. We need to get Stein on here again, I didn't hook up a WBO2 gauge up to mine, but I seem to remember the option being there to add on a gauge.

Errrr, thats right you ran the AEM, i thought you were on the LC-1 by innovate. Guess I should read the posts before I write!!

Dennis Chey at Autowurks (autowurks@ix.netcom.com) sold me my AEM UEGO for $227 shipped with Paypal or he will do $220 shipped without Pypal if you want the AEM with gauge.

The XD-1 model has the serial output. They have another one that is cheaper, at 229 and that one doesn't have the serial output.

The LC1 with the DB gauge (the $229 version) does in fact come with a serial out- I've got one sitting right here.

TravisR 03-22-2009 12:31 PM

Then thats what I would go with. You don't have to hack any serial cables or anything. You just plug it into 1 of the two DIN inputs and then plug the serial into the Adaptronic.

Why does it state this though on the website?

Note: The DB gauges have NO serial capability, and can only display AFR. For complete channel and color configurability, and for integrated remote-MTS button (calibrate, log start/stop), see the XD-16.

I think it's just worded poorly- I took that as meaning that you can't link the gauges together (a la Defi, etc) and that it is AFR only. IIRC the XD-16 can be used for any number of things; boost, AFR, etc.

Ahhhh, I see. Well then I am going with that one. Thanks for the information! Saved me a $100.

I'm using an LC-1.
As far as I know a LC-1 allways has an serial output with or without an gauge. Mine is an kit with gauge and I ordered mine at bellengineering.

If you are in doubt wether you have to mount a gauge: go with a gauge, for me it gives me info when im driving and it gives an indication when I'm to rich or to lean. When you are to rich even the adaptronic can't correct it. I did that once.
