AEM FIC Car Wont Start
Just wired in an FIC. Checked, double checked, triple checked all the wiring. All looks good. However, the car will not start (it does get spark, not sure about fuel). With the bypass cable connected it starts right up. Im using the base cal file and all tables are zeroed out, from my understanding the car should run like that. I have tried tweaking a few things like changing the injector size to 440 since thats what I have but nothing seems to work. Ive tried refreshing the ecu, probing the wires to make sure all have good connection. RPM does show on program gauges as well as MAP and MAF. Any ideas on this? Its a 1.6

Never dealt with FICs, but do they utilize the cam and crank signals? Can you do any data logs? Post up, if you can, the cam, crank pulses and inj and ign pulses. How do you know you're getting spark?

If you made this harness then you will probably need to add some resistors in with your cam and crank. the FIC does not have any internal filtering of the signals.
places like Boomslang Fabrication | ECU Engine Management Wire Harnesses already add these in so nothing else is needed. the best way to do this is to use an oscilloscope and add resistors until you see a nice clean signal. most people do not have these. so you can just get a few and try them out. start with a 2.2k 1/4w try going up and down from there. this is not a fun process. |
If you wired the tps, you WILL overvoltage the fic input with a stock '90 tps. You need to run a 12V to 5V divider off of the TPS to prevent this from happening.
I will see if I can find an old schematic showing how I wired it. |

Holy old thread batman, well attaching schematic for posterity. Use/Reference at your own Risk

I see that this is a slightly old thread, but i also have the same issue. However, when i hook up the cam wire back to the factory ECU it will run. Has anyone found the solution yet??
