Default ems 30-1710 fans operations

Been driving the car for awhile now and recently went through with the coolant reroute and installed an aftermarket temp gauge.

a few things i noticed is that the car drives fine but the fans are turning on at 150*. Not only that but the fan relay is clicking on and off rapidly.

did some quick searches and found
https://www.miataturbo.net/aem-59/em...ettings-66193/

that car was a 95 so i am not sure if that will apply to me since i have a 90.

looking through the aem pin out the 95 models have the cooling fan at pin 1L (output ls6) while the 90 is 1R (output ls2).

would this work?

Unlock and start typing in "Rad". Rad Fan will come up. I believe it's LS6.

Arrow down to see Rad Fan Off Below and Rad Fan On Above settings. You can change them in the adjacent cell. Just like everything else, you have to hit "Enter" once you change the value.
but instead of ls6 it would be ls2

this is what is on the aem right now.

I never had to do anything with the ems when I ran it on my '92.

there are two thermistors on the engine, one gives the ecu the temp, the other grounds the low current fan circuit to the relay.

Im not sure that the '95 is the same, but it could be. did you use the sensor that is normally on the engine outlet to the radiator when you did the reroute? if you extended the wiring for that and the reroute, that's likely your issue.
