email tuning...
Ok... So I might get flamed for this...but here it goes.
I'm looking for someone to tune my car. I have access to a Mustang Dyno and I have road tuned my car already. I haven't touched the spark map but have adjusted the fuel map and some start up values. I have no idea about AIT curves, Ignition vs Temp curves...blah blah blah. I'm not a tuner, only wish to be. I've driven my car around quite a bit and I'm looking for someone who has experience with my car's engine and ecu combo to tune it for me. I know there are some AEM gurus around here that know AEM pro like the back of their hand. Hopefully one of you guys will chime in or send me a PM. Email tuning is becoming more and more popular. I can set up a conference view of my laptop on location as well. Cheers Alex |

I think only series 2 ems's use Tuner Studio.
AEM Pro is the weapon of choice here. :( |

This is very true. My friend drives an 08 Civic Si and he just installed a pile of parts, and is using Flash Pro. He told me he datalogs, then emails the logs to some tuning specialist. The tuner makes changes to his file, emails it back to him, and he uploads it to his car. Pretty simple, but then again, so is using Tuner Studio.
His RSX how has nearly 400whp and drives great... I would have confronted the same people...its just the tuner doesn't work with different software. Which makes sense. A standalone is only as good as the tuner tuning it. And a great tuner can still give a less then adequate tune if he doesn't know the ins and outs of the tuning software being used. EDIT: Which is why I am posting here... I know Savington (trackspeed) has tons of experience using AEM. others I'm sure do as well, or at least know who does. |
So... no one knows of any reputable tuning shop that works with AEM EMS that does remote tuning?
|
I can see what my coworker thinks about helping out. I am sure he would like to be paid for his time. We use ems's on all our RX-7's that we work on. Do you have a series 1 or 2?
Have a great day, Jared |
Series 1.
Definitely would pay for someones times. How many dyno runs do you figure it will take?? Is it all dyno. Or should I do runs beforehand as well? Is there a business name I can look up?? |
I work at tri-point engineering. I could not tell you. He would need to for sure review your map and all beforehand to know what he is dealing with. Send me your email in a pm and I will pass it on to him. Then you can go from there.
Have a great day, Jared |
Tri-point has a nice site and seems to have the experience. Sent you a pm looking forward to some references.

If anyone on here wants to take a look at my calibration file and offer up suggestions.
It is very well possible that iIve neglected an entire section of it. |

If you want someone to look at your cali file; why don't you post it first?:giggle: I'm almost ashamed to post it. I've made a few changes... The fuel and spark vs AIT, fuel and spark vs CLT graphs are getting to me. Also the spark/fuel maps need to be adjusted so they're not going up to 300kpa |
Was my coworker of any help?
Have a great day, Jared |
Cody was...
He basically stated that over the web..there are SO many things that needed to be changed it would take a very long time. I haven't heard anything back. No hard feelings.

He definately seems very good at what he does once the car is more "in check" I'll probably pursue that avenue with him, thank you again for your help.

OK... Here is my file that i currently use on the car.
Just want to make sure everything looks ok in the values in the other then the fuel/spark maps. Also, I attached it as a zip because MT.net doesn't accept *.cal files. HUGE THANK YOU |
Well...working with Cody @ Tri-Point again.
Did a cold start internal datalog and he's gonna adjust a few things and give it back to me. |
How is the car doing so far? I see him at lunch working on it. He is also going to help me with my EMS4 tune that I am going to install in my car. I can't wait. My cr has been down since December and its my DD. Hopefully it will be running by end of next week.
Have a great day, Jared |
He's been nothing but great to work with and quick with response times.
Its actually me that is slowing things down at this point. Having a few issues with a hesitation (feels like a fuel or spark cut) at higher boost levels. This hesitation goes away if I lean out the car to nearly 14:1 but that is unacceptable. Hooking up a fuel pressure gauge and going to check over my coils as well. Cody is awesome though, knows his shit! |
