Default EMS-4 self adjustment?

I recently installed COPs in wasted mode and all ran fine. I then decided to go ahead and wire sequential (2 days later) and just used wire nuts on the connections to make sure I didn't screw anything up. It ran perfectly and I ran it for a couple days with just the wire nuts. So here is where the issue developed. I got to work and realized that my idle was about 2000 (about 1100 normal). So this weekend I soldered all the wiring connections and when I started it up it ran a good bit leaner than usual, at least at idle (17-18) and idle was at 1600. I took it for a quick hard drive to see if there were any other issues and found none. About half way through the drive the idle seemed to be back to normal. Is it possible that the ECU had to relearn the idle after being modified, or do I need to start checking sensors aand connections. By the way at first I suspected a vac leak and did a quick leak test and did not see any issues.

Did you look at your idle learned values, your target idle speeds, throttle position values,..? Those would have gave you a really good indication of what happened. If your idle target was high that would account for it, If your car was idling high and you were out of idle learned value, if your tps was reading high causing the tps offset to count higher idle targets and then the high idle. There are a ton of reasons why it would do what it did. not looking at the values of having logs of those values it is hard to say why it happened.

The idle does not "learn". Once you set your Idle % v. Target table, the only thing the ECU does is count Idle trims(Idle Learned values). Depending on your settings this should only take a few seconds.

I did not get a chance to log anything during this. I am going to the track this weekend and plan to do a bunch of logs and get the 02 fB hooked up as well. I think I am a little rich at WOT and hope to do a little tuning during the day.
