What else do I need
I have looked at the AEM setup a couple of times, even bid on one in Ebay. Looks like a high quality unit and now the they are sale I will probably do this. But what else do I need, information is a little sketchy, is there a FAQ somewhere? But it looks like the base unit does not contain a IAT so I can remove the AFM/MAF setup, and a pressure sensor for booth mapping. EBC would be great as well.
Maybe I am just looking in the wrong places. Graham |

Maybe I am just looking in the wrong places. Graham BTW, the reason you're seeing it those cheap prices is because AEM is about to start selling their new generation EMS. |
I just got an AEM for my 90 turbo'd miata too.. but having some issues getting it all mapped out. I put an Air Temp Sensor in the intake and have a Electronic Boost Controller but didn't realize that I will need an aftermarket MAF sensor. Is there more info on this? Also should I switch to a Variable Throttle Position Sensor?

B61P, please keep me informed of your progress. AEM are high quality units at a great price, but useless if you cannot get support.

Very true and there doesn’t seem to be much info anywhere on installing the AEM EMS on NA 1.6 Miata, and AEM wasn’t much help either.
|
So no info on the need for an aftermarket MAF Sensor or Variable Throttle Position Sensor for the 90-93 miatas wanting to run AEM EMS??

I'm no expert but if you need anything, you can contact me. BTW, which AIT sensor did you use? About the Variable Throttle Position Sensor; I seem to recall many threads by early NA owners using MS to tune their cars. Both Ben and Joe know a lot about that subject. Look for their threads on the subject. I seem to recall they were buying the variable TPS from BMWs on ebay or something like that. Sorry, I didn't pay too much attention since my car comes with one from the factory. |

You should also give AEM a call. They're tech support is awesome. |
If I rember correct, there is a post on the AEM website forums where they helped a guy remove his AFM and get the car running, that may help.... You will have the jumper the wire for the fuel pump ground on the AFM harness, as there is no way on EMS to make the f/p run without it.

^^Yes I need to get the EMS wired up to my Walbro.
