APR GTC200 Wing modified fitment advice....

I know first response will be use a different wing but we got stung getting this landed here in NZ with the landed cost nearly $3k with freight and taxes. So at this point we work with what we have.

After 5 years of trying we have finally secured and fitted a Fastback. Many thanks to Lightyear!!!

However, the APR GTC200 Wing isn't a tidy fit, when wanting to remove the boot and to have good support to the wing load......so a few questions.

- Can the current mount points be moved 10-15mm further outward ?

- Failing that, what is the consensus on using the outer endplate mounts as a full wing mount?

Are we talking instant death ? :)

Some years ago I bought mine from someone who had it for a Honda S2K. the uprights were already wider and it set just outboard of the trunk lid seams. the vertical walls on the fender side of those seams are strong as hell. Little L brackets into those worked perfectly. trunk will only open between the uprights only till it hits the wing however. I now have a GT1000 wing mounted there at full angle of attack. At speed it squats the car down noticeably with no sign of mounting points deflecting. I think making the big ass stanchions down through the trunk to attach to the frame rails is stupid and unnecessary heavier and not as strong. SCCA rules don't let wings hang aft of the rear bumper so no point in for me mounting to the bumper mounts like some do.
