Ccp front bumper

does anyone use this? Looks pretty good and an alternative to the “crusher” front end. I have an adjustable rear 3D wing that needs some front downforce to even it out

Thank you! They are most known for their hard tops.

I think Lincolnlogs ran something like this and it lasted all of 5 minutes before cracking. If it's fiberglass it will not handle even a bit of scraping on a driveway/ramps at all.

10 lbs sounds heavy for a fiberglass part of that size though, maybe it's urethane?

I used the 949 Racing version about 4 years ago. It cracked when I drove with it on the street because I was a moron. I went into a driveway wrong and crunched it, user error, not product error. After my friend repair it I used mine for about 2 full seasons before I had a good off at Phil's Hill @ Buttonwillow which is where mine was laid to rest. At the time I was also running an APR GTC-200 and the lip balanced it out perfect. It was a great inexpensive combo that did not require hardly any fabrication to install.

RIP the 949 air dam. I want one so bad it makes my testicles hurt.

soot 03-23-2018 12:22 PM

Good to know. The 949 model looks nice, but I have driveways I have to get through that some scraping is unavoidable. I'd be too worried about destroying the bumper. Sounds like a good simple solution for a track only car.

I just need to make a removable splitter setup like you have...

My car has been through lots of changes but this was one of my favorite set ups I've had.

It's not a street car piece and I wouldn't want to drive around with a splitter either. I attached my 949 "lip" on my factory bumper with 3 quarter turn fasteners and two zip ties (you can see the remnants of the attachment points in the first picture below). Took about 5 minutes to put on and 30 seconds to remove. I left my GV lip on when I attached the lip and it looked good on the street too. I ended up re-creating something similar this year for MRLS using some aluminum. Dan from 949 drove my car and we both were very impressed how much front end grip the car had, in fact I had to run the spoiler at max angle to get close to the right balance...I'd still want a little more rear downforce. Ryan and I have tossed around the idea of producing these for those running GV lips or replicas - I think they look pretty bad ass.

I almost built something like that for myself since 15x9s are so wide and the GV doesn't help much. Would maybe buy if available...

soot 03-23-2018 01:23 PM

Sean - Those look like an awesome compromise for a 'street aero' setup! Run the GV lip, spats and BBFW spoiler on the street/autox, and a true splitter and wing on the track. Dope.

To be honest I'll likely make a set for myself since you're not currently selling them :ugh: (sorry)

I mangled one of the ones on my car so we are actually having a few sets made up in the next couple weeks. Shoot us a message if you want some.

In for one, this looks awesome.

soot 03-23-2018 02:00 PM

PM'd - hopefully my budget allows since yours will be prettier than mine.

highroller101 04-24-2018 11:35 PM

Ok, so I just bought it as well as their fiberglass hood. Going to put on fiberglass fenders as well I think. Both of mine have small rust spots.

Ill give a report.

The ccp version has a built in fiberglass undertray.

Wanted to bump this thread instead of making a new one.

I noticed a few miatas show all at once on instagram with front lip that resembles a lot like the CCP/ISC airdam. After asking a few people and digging around I found that this was recently on the market:
https://garagestar.com/product/ag-li...-chin-spoiler/
Some more photos on the creator's instagram here:
https://www.instagram.com/aglimited/

This appears to designed after the ISC airdam with two distinct differences, they lack the brake duct inlets and the lip is made out of polyurethane. The cost seems right and I'm very tempted to order and stick this on my own miata. I messaged one of the owners who took his miata out to the M@LS event this past weekend and he said that it made a noticeable difference in front end grip.

soot 09-20-2018 11:04 PM

That's really tempting for a dual duty car since it's PU. I might hold off on a true splitter. Any reason why you guys think this would be bad for an autox/street/track use car?

endura 10-04-2018 07:58 PM

Regarding that AG Limited front lip. Anybody find a head on picture with 15X9 35 offset wheels? All the instagram pictures look like 0 or 20 offsets. Want to see how much of the tires it covers with the standard 15X9 setup.

soot 10-04-2018 10:18 PM

They don't look crazy low offset to me... Take a photo of you car from the same angle as this and see how much tire poke you have compared to the bumper skin/fender and compare to this photo. I have 15x9 storms and they poke more than this guy:

I have one of these lips, with my 15x8 +28 which has nearly the same overall outside width, the lip doesnt cover muchhttps://cimg2.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mia...e172661457.jpg
