Civic quick release splitter mounts

I was wondering if anyone had tried running some of the civic splitter mounts that are kicking around on ebay. They're reasonably cheap ($50 for bolt on and $100 for QR) and it looks like they could be adapted to a miata pretty easily. Should just be a matter of making an adapter bracket for the top half that bolts to the miata and has the right spacing for the slots on the civic mount.

Second image is of a miata mount showing what the upper could look like.

I'm running a set of these on my 2000 autocross car. I'll see if I can dig up some pics. I'm running the stock bumper with a small air dam. You have to trim a fair amount of the stock bumper away to get them to work. If you're running a big plastic air dam on a cut down bumper it probably won't be an issue. I have my air dam attached to my splitter, so it can be a pain to remove and install. Be careful lining everything up when you install them, or it will make it real hard to take on and off. My lower mounts are about an inch narrower than the upper mounts, so I have to flex them into place when I install it. I can pull the whole setup off in a couple mins, installation takes about twice that long. You get some extra rattles from the big washers on the attachment bolts, I put some rubber washers in-between them and the bolt heads.

For V2, I hope to remake the upper piece as all one piece. I just need to pull the brackets off and make a template. Probably won't happen for a while though. I may pony up and get some 9lives Sturdy Bois. . .

I like the 9lr pieces, but I already have a LRB undertray that is ducted, so no reason to fully double up. Maybe I'll try and find a local buyer for the LRB setup and replace it with the sturdy bois...
