NB NACA Air Duct?
 

Has anyone used naca air ducts in the hood or fender area to direct cool air to the intake? Seen this done on the headlight housings on NAs but curious if something similar could be done on the hood or fender for an NB? I have a junk hood and fender I was gonna potentially test it on but not sure if anyone has tried this before. Also don’t want to interfere with cooling vents in the front center location on the hood as well.

if you are just ‘directing’ the air to the intake, then you will completely undermine the purpose of cooling vents in the front of the hood.
The Naca duct would increase the pressure in the engine bay, reducing air flow through the radiator, the exact opposite of what the cooling vents are for.

the only way it would work is if you seal the naca to the intake so no air can escape into the engine bay. Not sure how you would run a filter that way, and you would probably be better taking air from the front rather than the bonnet (hood)

If you created a cold air area to isolate the cold air from the radiator air like rascal said that be a good way to do it. I happen to have a naca from a Porsche 924 turbo if you want it. Free. Just pay shipping.

Plan is to have the box sealed against the hood from the rest of the engine bay just in that corner where the cold air intake and heat shield/box is. Problem is not much airflow into that area from the front of that car so trying to get a better solution for more cool air from outside the engine bay.

It's like that on my NB- I used some NB fog light bezels (search on google about them) and put a flex hose between the bezel and the rather large hole just behind the headlight.
